Milan Fashion Week Trends

Friday 06 March 2015

The end is nigh for this season’s fashion weeks, with New York been and gone, London finishing weeks ago, Paris nearing it’s end and Milan’s finale happening three days ago, it’s time to put away you’re catwalk strut and skip the summer months to prepare to key trends for Autumn/Winter 2015.

Mum’s The Word

Dolce and Gabbana were truly the stars of this week’s festivities when they sent model mums and their babies and children down the runway. The parade of beautifully embroidered dresses accompanied by cherub-esque babies is enough to make any woman’s ovaries boom, I mean fashion and babies? Come on.

70s Chic

It’s been a common theme throughout the last few weeks of fashion festivities, and even if I hate to admit it, flares are back and they’re more chic than ever. Who would’ve thought it? 70s fashion revival is in full swing and in full print too. With Bottega Veneta squares and Etro’s patchwork it’s clash galore.

Fur Fur Fur

Fendi feathered dress and furry Giamba frock were just two ensembles gracing the runway. With Max Mara yeti coats and even furry shoes by Antonio Marras, turning everyone into bears, and colourful bears may I add, is the way forward for AW15.

Masculine Vibes

It’s time for the power woman to walk through and take their rightful place in the AW15 hierarchy. The female suit is rife and it’s masculinity is it. Missoni feminising it up with sequins, whilst Jil Sander keeps things minimal and powerful with oversized navy blue.

Romantic Hues

The colour red came in all sorts of hues, shapes and sizes during Milan Fashion Week. Emilio Pucci nailed a floating dress, Alberta Ferretti lace made our heart melt and if that Fendi coat doesn’t magically appear in our wardrobe then our face will definitely turn the same shade of red.
