Number 90 Turns 1

Hackney is infamously known for it’s rich art and music scene, with new go-to’s popping up everywhere. Number 90 at Hackney Wick is turning one this weekend. And like any good birthday celebration, they’ve planned three days of events to commemorate the occasion. My guess is that there may be a significantly larger amount of beers and cocktails consumed at this first birthday than your average one though…

Number 90 has arranged a weekend full of live art, live bands, DJs, performances, and they want you to be there. Kicking off this Thursday (19th March) at the beaut canal side venue, you’ll be able to see a canvas rotation art project curated by ArtNoCube, where artists will rotate and contribute to a canvas art piece. Friday will see Hoxton radio takeover the airways, buy viagra by the pill whilst Saturday is dedicated to a day of market stalls and clothes swapping followed by live performances and DJs. And hear this, they have a special gift to give you – a 4am late license for Friday and Saturday’s schedule. Our birthday candle wish has already been answered…

So if art and music is your thing, then you know where you have to be this weekend. And with free entry for the entirety of the event, it won’t break your wallet. To be honest, the trip will become instantly worth it after the promise of a ‘Birthday cake performance’. I’m picturing that time Monty Burns burst of Waylon Smithers dream birthday cake. Just me? Okay. Either way it’s bound to be something you don’t want to miss.
