Introducing: Bully

Monday 20 April 2015
Words Ailis Mara

Bully is the post punk Indie Brainchild of Nashville sweetheart, Alicia Bognanno. She’s perhaps slightly intimidating to the outside, being as she sings, produces, writes and engineers pretty much everything she does with her band members.

Oh and the fact that Alice sings with punk style venom without all the political bullshit all those “cool” fake punk kids want to sing about. More of a modern day punk with a bit more thought into lyricism and much less sarcasm and unnecessary shouting. Going places in the US with what appears to be a gruelling schedule of dates but luckily for us we get to have this steamrolling band all to ourselves this May.

The Reminder…

Name: Bully.

Hometown: Nashville, Tennessee.

Members: Alicia Bognanno, Stewart Copeland, Clayton Parker and Reece Lazarus.

Sounds like: A slightly less angry The Pretty Reckless with more to say.

They’re releasing… Debut album ‘Feels Like’ on June 23rd.

You’ve gotta hear: ‘Trying’ (taken from the debut album ‘Feels Like’).

OMG did you know… If it wasn’t for a local zoo in her hometown of Minnesota, we might never have heard music from Alicia Bognanno. Her high school had elective programmes there, and after her parents finally allowing her to go, there was no stopping the producer and songwriter in the making.
