Preview: Pick Me Up 2015

Today sees the opening of Pick Me Up 2015, a now well-known addition to the arts calendar as the graphic arts festival of London.

Now in its sixth year, featuring a fresh line-up of artists and designers bringing the best of new illustration, graphic design and related disciplines to inspire and delight working in processes and techniques ranging from traditional screen-printing to animation, risograph printing to paper craft.

Both emerging and established talent have set up interactive workspaces so you can engage with the artists and designers directly, see work being made onsite, and even create your own work. The original pieces produced throughout the festival, plus limited edition prints and accessories, are available for purchase with prices ranging between £5 and £200.

Also featuring is Pick Me Up Platform, a programme of events consisting of talks, debates, demonstrations, DJs and games. Discussions explore current work, trends and issues facing graphic art communities in years to come. Highlights include talks by Studio Myerscough and Graphic Thought Facility, artist Bob and Roberta Smith, Director of Curation at Vimeo, animation production company Golden Wolf, ELCAF festival, publishers Nobrow and Thames & Husdon, Occupy Design’s Noel Douglas and various indie magazines each in conversation by magCulture.

Pick Me Up opens today and runs until 4th May at Somerset House.
