It’s that time of the year where everyone is panicking over what their plans are for summer. If you haven’t booked a holiday yet, if you’re not even sure where you want to go, may we suggest a few festivals that might tickle your fancy instead. 

We present to you The Spindle Festival Edit: June Selection. If you want to stay local or go away for sun, sea and music, we’ve got you sorted.


When? 6th-7th June What? Field Day is the perfect chilled out event for all you festivalgoer’s that would rather keep your hygiene levels at bay. Based in the beautiful Victoria Park, it boasts a ‘village mentality’ and an array of acts such as Chet Faker, Caribou, Astronomy, Django Django, FKA Twigs, Ride, Allah-las and Patti Smith. When? 11th-14th June What? If you fancy an adventure and want to row out like the Owl and the Pussycat, we suggest that you grab your ores and set off to the Isle of Wight. An amazing line up will be waiting for you with acts such as Blur, Fleetwood Mac, The Prodigy, Pharrel Williams, Kodaline, Jessie Ware, You Me At Six, Jesse Glynne, Groove Armada and Foxes. When? 11th-14th June What? If you still intrigued by the magic of fairytales, you’ll want to head into the woods for this festival season. Held in Anglesey, Wales, this boutique festival plays host to an array of underground electronic music artists. The weekend will feature Adam Shelton, Midland, Zenker, Artwork, Andrew Ashong, Blumental and more. So if being at one with nature is your thing and you wanna relive the skins parties you cringely watched as a teen, this is place to be. £€$? Weekend Ticket £125.00


When? 12th-14th June What? This one is for all of you that wanna release your inner greebo, think lots of black and channeling your inner Adams Family. Expect lots and lots of moshing and so many *insert rock hand symbol* gestures that if you ever saw one again, it would be too soon. For this weekend Donington Park has blessed you with a line up of rock legends such as KISS, Motely Crue, Slipknot, Slash, Muse, A Day To Remember and Enter Shikari. When? 12th-14th June (+ Orpheus Pool Party on 15th June) What? The Rhodopes Mountains of Bulgaria are calling your name, if you want a festival where you feel like you can touch the sky (not like that), then grab some tickets. When? 18th-20th June What? Held in Barcelona, this diverse festival is fit for all you electronic music lovers out there who fancy a weekend in the sun! It combines a playful nature, the avant-garde, and experimentation with electronic dance musics’ newest trends. ASAP Rocky, FKA Twigs, Die Antwood, Skrillex, Jamie XX, Flying Lotus, Zebra Katz, Hot Chi, Sky gaze and Siriusmodeselekto. When? 24th-28th June What? If we’re honest, we don’t feel like Glastonbury needs an introduction. Although famous for the rain that always falls, Glasto brings you the most diverse line up of any UK festival, the crossover between genres always entices the best audience. The line up features Rudimental, The Maccabees, FKA Twigs, Florence and The Machine, Pharrel Williams, Alt-j, Jamie T, Ben Howard and Mark Ronson. As always, the tickets have sold out in record time. When? 25th-28th June What? Sun, sea, sand and s… oul is where it’s at for this Southern Soul Festival. Go from beach to music to beach again. Featuring performances from Bad Bad Not Good, Jeremy Underground, DJ Nature, Detroit Swindle, Kito Jempere take yourself down to Copacabana Beach, Montenegro for four days, you deserve it. £€$? 4-day Ticket €79.00


When? 28th June-3rd July What? Infamous for it’s DJ set pool parties, dawn until dawn dancing and beaches and lakes so beautiful you’re definitely going to record yourself jumping into one for Instagram. Hideout Festival is held across multiple venues in Croatia, this year will see Duke Dumont, Eats Everything, Gorgon City, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Sigma perform amongst many others. Although the main tickets are sold out, you can still get your hands on some boat party tickets to give you a hint of the experience. £€$? Sold out
