Ultra Festival

Ultra is notorious for its fist pumping music, bringing the world’s most famous DJs together in Miami for one weekend. Dismissing the first day of showers, which caused stages to be shut down and the debut performances from Odesza and Chromeo to be canceled, Ultra Saturday and Sunday definitely made up for it.

Surrounded by the American festival culture we were insanely captivated. From their bracelets and rituals to the costumewear people seamed to tolerate in the 40-degree heat… There was so much love for the festival; you could tell for some people that it was everything. It was as if that last EDM track was their entire life and they had waited all year for them 6 minutes of immense euphoric fist pumps. English festivals seem so tame, ‘lame’, in comparison.

Headliners from Tiesto, Avicii, Skrillex, David Guetta and Steve Aoki set downtown Miami on fire. Literally. From the displays, lazers to the special effects the production Ultra delivered was on top form. Closing up with fireworks, surprise guests, Usher and Justin Bieber, who then went on to serenade us all with his feature of Skrillex’ new track ‘Where Are Ü Now‘.
