London Fashion Week SS17 saw the collaboration of The Cambridge Satchel Company and Brazilian footwear brand Melissa; a unique pairing that reworks the popular traditional leather satchel with bubblegum scented PVC.

To promote the launch of the new satchels under the collaboration, eight models – nicknamed ‘The Model Invasion’ – each donned the holographic edition outside the main London Fashion Week venue, Brewer Street Carpark, ahead of the Eudon Choi and Ashley Williams catwalk shows. Styled in rain macs and white chunky platforms with bleached and androgynous hair, the campaign adopted an unruly 90’s aesthetic to coincide the holographic, waterproof satchels.

This ‘model invasion’ concept to promote this collaboration was the brain child of the duo: photographer and filmmaker Robinson Barbosa and Brazilian stylist, producer and imagemaker Thais Mendes. Known collectively as a creative pairing under the name Two of Swords, Barbosa and Mendes perfectly capture the classic simplicity of The Cambridge Satchel Company’s designs against the plastic and youthful contribution from Melissa’s signature designs.
