Today signals the start of Graduate Fashion Week in East London’s Truman Brewery. Over 60 universities will be showcased across 22 catwalks over a week long celebration of new and emerging fashion talent.
Founded in 1991 as a charity organisation by Jess Banks CBE, Vanessa Denza MBE and John Watford as a way to fortify the foundations of UK creatives and create an international platform for their work, the event has grown exponentially and now features over 1,000 students from all corners of the country.
GFW acts as a bridge between education and employment and over the years has been responsible for launching the careers of some of the most successful designers of our generation, including Stella McCartney and Christopher Bailey.
All this week Spindle will be hosting interviews with some of the most exciting GFW talents and reporting directly from the front-line.
