Yohji Yamamoto said of the collection, “I wanted Y-3 to be energetic again. I said to the Y-3 team, “It’s time to change. It’s time to show movement”. We talked about sport and sports clothing while I was sketching the collection – and eventually I began painting myself – in motion”.
The line will be available exclusively through Matches Fashion website as of today (June 24), Head of Menswear Damien Paul said in a press release, “We’re so thrilled to have collaborated with Y-3 and Yohji himself on this project– we’ve seen an incredible response to the brand in recent seasons and we’ve long been fans of its relaxed, athletic and modern approach to menswear”
The range comprises of a t-shirt, tote bag and limited edition poncho, printed with the ink drawings, bearing a co-branded label.
