Trans models are becoming a force in modern fashion, as we’ve seen with the meteoric rise of names like Andreja Pejic, Arisce Wanzer and Hari Nef – not to mention the recent media storm caused when newly-trans Caitlin Jenner scooped a Vanity Fair cover. Now, the world’s very first all-transgender modelling agency has opened its doors in Los Angeles.
The Apple Model Management company initially started out as a mixed agency in Bangkok, Thailand, making history when they launched a dedicated division for their transgender recruits last year. Now, they’re taking the business big in the States, and have six models on their books already. Cecilio Asuncion, who directed acclaimed transgender documentary What’s the T? will be in charge of the LA branch, which is currently on the lookout for new talent; women 5″8 and over and men 6″ and up.
