The Spindle team are reporting LIVE from Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend, so don’t expect to miss a trick thanks to our compilation of selected highlights. Reporting from backstage, in the pit and from the fields themselves, our team are sharing their experiences with the artists they brush shoulders with from both festival sites. Don’t forget to check out our social media channels for more…

Here’s what went down on Day 1.

We chatted to the Blaenavon boys in the sun at Reading Festival where they took to the popular Festival Republic stage. They’ll be back on the Festival Republic sister stage at Leeds today!

The Lewis Del Mar duo from New York graduated with literature degrees, so when they’re not touring they want to start a ‘lit crit’ group that’ll invite other bands to their house to hang, read books and talk about them! No excuse to write any bad lyrics now…

We met up with the Spanish, all-girl band Hinds. We’ve got a interview with this lovely bunch coming very soon.

An interview with Rat Boy and his band is more than just an interview – it’s an experience. After catching up with the 20-year-old after his Leeds set, Rat Boy showed us how not to drive the artist’s buggy through backstage. Watch the madness unfold here.

Fickle Friends: From LA to Reading, they claim it’s “too hot for us” over in the West Coast. “We’ve actually written a few songs about our love and hate for that place”.

Check back in tomorrow for our round-up of day two.
