Female Vocals: Krista Papista

Wednesday 16 March 2016

On February 26th, ‘Sordid Pop’ artist Krista Papista self-released her horror film-inspired track I Wish I Had Blue Eyes, which, Krista says, is about “desiring things you will never have”. Tonight, she plays Stoke Newington’s The Waiting Room, with support from Plaitum. Having seen Krista previously at Birthdays, I recommend you come along.

AKA Australian/Cypriot Krista Manison, Krista Papista is a music producer and video director based in London. She writes and records at her home studio, and her music has been described as “Homo-Electro” with “Rabbit Hole transitions”. According to The 405, Krista Papista “wants to f*** up the entrenched inequality in society while you dance.”

Tickets for tonight’s show are available here. And check out Krista’s previous release Modern Girlhood here.

  • Zoë presents a ‘new music with female vocals’ show for Hoxton Radio every Sunday, 4-6pm. Every Wednesday, she introduces one of her favourite female vocalists to Spindle.
