Female Vocals: Flock of Dimes

Wednesday 27 July 2016

Flock of Dimes is the solo project of Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner (A.K.A. the writer of my FAVOURITE SONG EVER, Civilian). I’m a HUGE fan, and so, it seems, are Reverend Guitars, who have recently introduced the Jenn Wasner Signature JW-1 guitar! Pretty cool.

Jenn began releasing music under the Flock of Dimes moniker back in 2012 (from her native Baltimore) which is when I first discovered the hypnotic Prison Bride. Having since moved to North Carolina for a quieter life, Jenn is set to release debut Flock of Dimes album If You See Me, Say Yes via Partisan Records on September 23rd.

The first release from the album is Semaphore – a funky little number about “communication over great distances, and the infinite space that exists between even the closest of people”. Enjoy it, and keep your fingers crossed for some U.K. dates soon!

  • Zoë presents a live new-music-with-female-vocals show for Hoxton Radio every Sunday, 4-6pm. Every Wednesday, she introduces one of her favourite female vocalists to Spindle.
