Spindle Selects: Tracks of the Week

Enjoy this short working week with the best 10 tracks that we think you should be listening too.

Tiggs Da Author – Swear Down feat. Yungen

Another smash hit from Tiggs Da Author who seems to have taken over both the airwaves and our TV’s this last couple of months. Last single “Run” is currently the soundtrack to the Sky Sports Ad, which features none other than David Beckham, as well as being on the new Bridget Jones’ Baby trailer. Tiggs is an artist that we can truly believe in and this new cut, which features rising star Yungen, is set to remain on the office stereo for the remainder of 2016.

Dua Lipa – Blow Your Mind (Mwah)

The latest Dua Lipa single is typically brilliant and something that we have come to expect from the rising star. “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” is another reminder as to why the world is getting so excited over her and her forthcoming album, which looks set to drop in early 2017.

Stealing Signs – Two Thirds

‘Two Thirds’ is the second single from Stealing Signs, this time supported with a fantastic creative visual. This song remains upbeat and energetic, a signature style of the band’s sound. Lifted from new EP ‘A Different Time’ which is due for release in early October, the boys have had a busy summer playing a number of festivals before gearing towards releasing a range of assets over the coming months which include four singles and two videos.

Sampha – Blood On Me

Sampha releases self produced track ‘Blood On Me’, much more fast paced than sombre ’Timmy’s Prayer’ but both equally great. This gears up for the release of his debut album ‘Process’, which is hotly-anticipated by many.

John Legend – Start

John Legend comes back with a beautiful new track for new film ‘Southside With you’ which he executive produced. The film depicts President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle’s first date. Simplicity at it’s best from Legend.

Fetty Wap – Make You Feel Good

Another infectious track from Fetty after ‘Different Now’. Definitely one for the ladies, all these single tracks dropping has created speculation as to whether or not this will be leading to another solid project sooner from him than we think?

Cher Lloyd – Activated

It seems marriage and L.A living is doing wonders for Worcester’s Cher Lloyd. After watching her last few videos it’s difficult to believe that she first came to the world’s attention as an X Factor wannabe under the watchful eye of mentor Cheryl. “Activated” is the first release from the third album and the first track that we’ve heard since she parted ways with Simon Cowell. The sound is still very ‘Cher’, but a contemporary, less bubblegum-pop version, which we can completely invest in. The video has also made us want to run to the fabric shop and fashion up some stylish morph suits too.

SOHN – Signal

SOHN is back! It’s been a while since we had new material; the critically acclaimed ‘Tremors’ dropped in 2014 and there’s been nothing since. Returning with brand new track ‘Signal’, the producer of BANKS and Kwabs weaves his magic through another beautiful track that matches the grace of all the best moments in ‘Tremors’. Dig into endless textures below.

GoldLink – Fall in Love feat. Ciscero

Here’s a superpower collab and some supercharged funk for your Thursday: Goldlink co-produced by KAYTRANADA and BADBADNOTGOOD. Dreamy. Goldlink shared the new track, ‘Fall In Love’, following his Trillectro performance in the US. With KAYTRANADA’s funk-ridden touch clear as day, the track also features a verse from rapper Ciscero who perfectly rides the breezy groove machine.

The Weeknd / Cashmere Cat – Wild Love

Another dreamteam collab of Spindle faves: The Weeknd and Cashmere Cat have finally revealed joint track ‘Wild Love’, which features Frances and the Lights of Kanye’s favourite song of 2016 fame. The track also serves as the lead track from Cashmere Cat’s forthcoming album of the same name, out tomorrow.
