Solange Releases New Album ‘A Seat at the Table’ and Two New Music Videos

After releasing her new and third studio album A Seat at the Table three days ago, Solange has go on to unveil two visually stunning music videos to promote her new musical offering. The new videos take on Solange’s own creative input; ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’ and ‘Cranes in the Sky’ were co-directed by herself and music video director Alan Ferguson, (who also happens to be Solange’s husband).

With it being three years since last releasing recorded material into the stratosphere, the album comes as a tasty treat for Solange fans, with a list of 21 tracks to be devoured. The lengthy album isn’t all to write home about either – A Seat at the Table see’s a tracklist collaborating with Lil Wayne, Sampha, KelelaTweet, The-Dream and Dev Hynes.

But releasing a brand new 21-track album and two music videos simultaneously isn’t enough to promote her new body of work for Solange. I call it ‘a body of work’ because, unlike most artists, Solange has also released a digital book of poetry and lyrics which was initially emailed to 86 fans exclusively. To coincide with the publicity of her new album, Solange has also partook in two interviews, one with Tavi Gevinson for W and one with her mother Tina Knowles and writer Judnick Mayard, published on her own website Saint Heron.
