Watch Ryan Gosling’s Dead Man’s Bones documentary

Did you know that as well as being a talented actor, Ryan Gosling was also part of the musical duo Dead Man’s Bones? With friend Zach Shields, Gosling creates hauntingly beautiful music and they’re perfect for a Halloween listen with their suitably spooky songs. And even better, Pitchfork once put together short documentary film you can watch that follows them as they organise a talent show and rehearse a choir of children in preparation for their show at Le Passion Rouge, New York. It’s quite funny.

The children’s choir perfectly add another ghoulish layer to the band’s music on songs such as ‘My Body’s a Zombie for You.’ Naturally, the children’s faces are painted like skulls. The talent show is looking for things that are ‘a little bit uncomfortable,’ and attracts a range of eccentric and freaky acts, including a yoga contortionist who can make amazing shapes with her body. Another act auditions her ‘world famous poop opera,’ which Gosling had to cut from the line-up for obvious reasons. Enjoy!
