Russian men’s fashion designer Gosha Rubchinskiy plans to take his next show home to Kaliningrad for AW17. The capital city of a province with the same name, Kaliningrad is situated along the Baltic Coast between Poland and Lithuania. The show will take place in January and showcase his label’s designs for AW17.

The designer has of course held shows in his motherland before, but this is his first catwalk in Russia since his 2009 debut collection was showcased in Moscow. Since this, Rubchinskiy’s has built a fashion empire that produces contemporary, highly coveted menswear, as well as photography books and collaborations with brands such as Vans, Fila, and Kappa. He made his first appearance at Paris Fashion Week in 2014, where he has made his fashion base, however last season his SS16 show took place in Florence as part of Pitti Uomo. After putting Russia on the map for men’s fashion, it will be interesting to see him return his catwalk to his home country.
