This week we’re looking back at Animal Collective’s super surreal video for ‘FloriDada,’ a crazy, colourful trip that tells a love story between two animated, colour changing alien-like bodies. It was produced and directed by Adult Swim favourites PFFR, and has actually been identified as triggering seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy, not surprising with the intensely flashing myriad of colours throughout.
The video swirls between a dancing outer space, a hand painted outline of Florida, patterns of morphing bodies, and bonkers babies. Perhaps this is what The Sims would look like on acid. This video is as weird, eccentric and brilliant as Animal Collective’s experimental music and makes a hilariously odd watch.
