The Fashion Awards took place last night in London’s Royal Albert Hall, with 4,000 members of industry and the public attending the ceremony. Top designers, models, and celebrities graced the red carpet in their finest to celebrate this year’s best in fashion. Numerous notable figures presented the awards, including Tom Ford, Lady Gaga, Alexa Chung, Naomi Campbell, David Bailey, Mario Testino, and Donatella Versace.
British Brand was awarded to Alexander McQueen, collected by creative director Sarah Burton. Craig Green received British Menswear Designer and Simone Rocha won British Womenswear Designer. British Emerging Talent went to Molly Goddard, a London based designer who has been waking waves in the industry. The Outstanding Achievement in Fashion award went to Ralph Lauren.
Vetements won International Urban Luxury Brand, while Demna Gvasalia picked up the International Ready-to-Wear Designer award for his work for Balenciaga. International Model was awarded to Gigi Hadid, and this year’s New Fashion Icons were announced as brother and sister Jaden and Willow Smith.
32 Creative Influencers were also acknowledged during the ceremony for their key work in the fashion industry, including photographers, stylists, make-up artists, set designers, and agents. The event was also a fundraising gala for the British Fashion Council‘s Education Foundation charity, which offers scholarships to talented design students to study BAs and MAs, as well as providing funding for apprenticeships.
