Listen to Palm Honey’s new EP ‘Tucked Into The Electronic Wave’

The Reading/London based four-piece band, Palm Honey, who specialise in tranced up, ethereal shoe-gaze sounds have today released their debut EP, Tucked Into The Electronic Wave. This is not the kind of post-punk meets psychedelia EP that can easily be shoeboxed though – expect unsuspecting waves of krautrock and jazz to hit your auditory senses while you embark on an unearthly journey through the 4-strong tracklist.

With plans to make a mark with this release, the EP begins with ‘Palace’ – the first track the band ever wrote together – and ends with ‘I Can Try’, a track that was written barely weeks before recording thanks to some successful last minute jam sessions. The premise of this musical offering is more of an look within than anything else, with frontman Joseph Mumford addressing his own neurosis. He tells Spindle: “The EP is just about my ongoing struggle with chronic anxiety and a stupid nihilistic attitude to life. It’s pretty self deprecating. I don’t want to be painting myself as a hero when I’m the opposite. It’s really an EP about identity.”

So welcome to the hypnotic, psychedelic sounds of Palm Honey. Sit back, listen on loud and thank us later.
