Nested off East London’s Brick Lane, last Wednesday (7/11) saw the unveiling of B-Side, a new store and gallery by London based designer Wale Adeyemi.

Best known for his work as stylist to the Beckhams and creative director at New Era, the B-Side store marks a new chapter in designer’s illustrious career. The store is a homage to street-wear and culture and is home to a clothing collection that marries the designers love for American sportswear with British tailoring, as well as the various styles that continue to emerge out of London’s many underground scenes.

Run by Creative Director Angelo Carnielo, formally of Trolley Books fame, the store not only houses the clothing collection but doubles up as a space in which the label will display collaborations with people from all elements of the creative spectrum, from musicians to graphic designers.  The opening night saw many from creative industries flock to the East London store to have a preview of the collection as well as enjoy the free tequila flowing in abundance thanks to the Patron sponsored event.

The collection itself consists of concise, wearable pieces that take influence from hip-hop to punk but remains true to its roots and remains quintessentially British. From statement t-shirts, beanie hats and sweaters the devil is in the detail with leather front pockets placed on cotton sweaters and floral pockets on tees , B-Side is a must visit for purveyors of street-wear.  The stand out piece would have to be the wonderfully sleek satin varsity jackets with satin sleeves and Cheetah print a guaranteed must have.
