J. JS Lee’s innovative spin on classic staples and workwear for AW17

For AW17, J. JS Lee took workwear and classic staples, giving them innovative little twists, resulting in a super sleek and intriguing collection. There was a minimalist feel to many pieces, with a pastel green co-ord of a boxy long sleeved top and pencil skirt, a long camel coat paired with a matching scarf tied tightly around the model’s neck, and another cream co-ord with a big bow on the hem of the top.

Interesting innovations and twists on classic pieces were seen with an oversized tweed coat that was so big that the collar fell below the model’s waist and the buttons were at the bottom, in line with the skirt, so the whole thing was almost like a long dress itself. Another tweed coat featured a strip of material across the chest as the fastenings, and a typical workwear style dress was styled over long white sleeves and layer of white skirt underneath. Smart, business style clothing dominated the collection, seeing many tailored trousers, pencil skirts, crisp white shirts and smart jackets, while the colour palette was full of monochrome, camel, russet, and grey.
