Born Stranger are Maddox-Jones and Raife Hacking, an electronic-pop duo that merge together thrilling electronic music and contemporary pop in an infectious fashion. Styling an inspiring futuristic edge, their first three singles ‘Fire & The Flame’, ‘Be Someone’ and ‘Cheating Love (Feat. Caitlyn Scarlett)’ were quick to garner support from CLASH, EARMILK, The Independent and Pop Justice and to play their debut show at the legendary London music venue KOKO.
Their newest single ‘Generation’, features the powerful vocals from Louise Setara. The singer/songwriter is currently working on her next album, which features impressive co-writes including the likes of Jim Duguid (Paolo Nutini, Sam Smith), and Adj Buffone (Dua Lipa, Troye Sivan). Throwing in a unique flair of house beats, fluttering vocal hooks and dual songwriting efforts, the track steps up to the plae from it’s predecessor ‘Cheating Love (Feat. Caitlyn Scarlett)’.
‘Generation’, co-produced and mixed by Yoad Nevo (Sia, Pet Shop Boys, Goldfrapp), takes a view of the world’s political landscape. Emphasising people may be lost or disheartened but what keeps the young generation thriving, is self-belief.
Born Stranger conclude “All our songs start with a conversation. Roby Kenna (my writing partner) and I, were chatting about the crazy uncertain times we are living In right now. None of us know what the future looks like. “Lay down your guard, show your face to the world” is a call to arms for this generation to stop worrying what other people think. Stop apologising and start believing in yourself.”
