Your weekly dose of new music.

Chris Reardon – ‘Spiders’

The new single from Chris Reardon – the follow up to last months ‘Bends’ – ‘Spiders’ is both elegiac and vulnerable and explores the unique songwriting abilities of Chris, who spent most of his life in Hong Kong before moving to London. With echoes of early Coldplay in it’s beautiful simplicity and Bon Iver in the tender, folk-hewn guitar lines, ’Spiders’ is a stunning showcase to the talents of Chris, complete with sweeping strings and intertwined with his heartfelt vocal delivery.

Selena Gomez – ‘Fetish’ (feat. Gucci Mane)

Selena Gomez continues her ascent to ‘authentic’ popstar with new single ‘Fetish’, featuring one-time co-star Gucci Mane (Spring Breakers). The new track fits perfectly with the singer’s new image; soft, stripped-back and real. ‘Fetish’ is a raw look at sensuality and desire, and comes with a video focusing on the singer’s lips as she sings.

Tom Grennan – ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’

Hotly-tipped Tom Grennan is back with new single ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’, and it’s a step-up for the Bedford troubadour. Coming off the back of two EPs, the new single has an immediacy and energy that’s catching, yet still with the gritty soul that’s becoming synonymous with Grennan’s name.

Tyler, The Creator – ‘Boredom’

Tyler, The Creator is stepping onto a new playing field with material from ‘Scum Fuck Flower Boy’. New single ‘Boredom’ is another gem, featuring Rex Orange County, Corinne Bailey Rae (!) and Anna Of The North. It’s a combination we never thought would exist, let alone sound so perfectly dreamy. Tackling isolation and loneliness, ‘Boredom’ is a no holds barred window into vulnerability but at the same time it’s totally chiiiiillll. Stay tuned for album release this Friday.

Dirty Heads – ‘Vacation’

Huge US band Dirty Heads is back with their brand new summer single ‘Vacation’, the tongue-and-cheek video features the one and only Principle Belding from hit US sitcome ‘Saved By The Bell’! Definitely worth a watch to get your summer break started.

Rose Gray – ‘Give It All To You’

Emerging talent Rose Gray is breaking into the scene with her psychedelic, soulful sound. Her infectious debut single ‘Give It All To You’ has been brought to life in the official video which transports you to the sultry 60s…

The Script – ‘Rain’

The Script are back with their first song in almost three years with ‘Rain.’ The track begins with a strong piano and builds to the chorus which is riddled with heavy guitar chords. Although this track marks the departure from the sound that The Script has released in the past, ‘Rain’ is an exciting first single that makes you want to sing along and has us anxiously waiting for more music.

‘Count On Me’ is the newest single from NEEDTOBREATHE that they have released this week to celebrate the one year anniversary of their most recent album Hard Love. ‘Count On Me’ is driven by the lyrical content coupled with the strong piano sounds and slow vocals. This fall NEEDTOBREATHE are taking this track and all of their anthemic songs on tour with some amazing guests like Gavin Degraw, Billy Raffoul, and Wilder.

Oh Wonder – ‘Lifetime’

‘Lifetime’ is a social commentary on climate change and technological consumption. This is evident in the countdown in the lyrics “seconds, minutes, hours, lifetimes” to the destruction of the planet or to a societal change to a greener lifestyle. The combination of the vocals by the duo Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West gives this song many layers.
