To celebrate the release of their single ‘Comment Ca Va’, D’Banj is back with The Fedz for part 2 of their Artist on Artist session. This week they discuss D’Banj’s biggest achievements, the genre of AfroBeats and, invent the new genre of ‘Afro-Garage’.

D’Banj – originally mentored by Fela Kuti – is known as The Godfather of AfroPop after his international hit ‘Oliver Twist’ brought Afrobeat into the 21st century. His efforts have seen him win many musical awards including Artist of the Year (MTV Africa Music Awards 2009), Best African Act (MTV Europe Music Awards 2007), Best International Act: Africa (2011 BET Awards) and the Evolution Award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards.
