In celebration of the release of their latest single ‘Comment Ca Va’ both D’Banj and The Fedz sat down for Spindle in an artist on artist session. In part 1 of the session, watch the The Fedz and D’Banj discuss matters like their African roots, the people who inspire them and the kind of artists they aspire to be.

One of the most acclaimed successful musicians to hail from Nigeria, D’Banj has been signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music and Sony and continues to take African music into new realms. Having sold over five million albums worldwide, the single will undoubtedly see D’Banj reclaim his mantle as the King of AfroBeat and is a track that sees him battle the new London renegades from the block – The Fedz.

The Fedz are a daring UK collective who, with their unique blend of soul, reggae and hip-hop have, in a few short months, been championed by MistaJam, Clara Amfo and Trevor Nelson and been picked as one of 1xtra’s ‘Hot for 2017.’ Comprising 13 young creatives based in London, their renegade street takeovers are notorious, once closing down Oxford Street with 5000 people, while their music and infectious attitude are winning hearts and minds all over the UK. Along with collaborating with D’Banj, The Fedz also have their own single out now called ‘Urban Tales’.

Be sure to catch part 2 of the session next week on Spindle.
