Jake Isaac’s Photo Diary: BTS at the Citadel Festival
Spindle spends the day with the ever-so-soulful Jake Isaac as he lets us go behind the scenes with him at Citadel Festival, taking place last weekend in Victoria Park. Jake won us over with his feisty yet personal and passionate debut album ‘Our Lives’ which was released earlier in the summer via Virgin Records. Already a huge name within the live circuit, with a fiercely loyal international fanbase – which has seen Jake take his full band experience to the US, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany – the singer/songwriter has recently come back off a colossal arena tour with none other than Sir Elton John himself.
Jake’s style of powerful soul pop has seen him take to the stage with female figures including Ella Eyre and Paloma Faith. He can boast huge streaming numbers which amass into the millions. Later this year expect to see him in a city near you, as he embarks on a headline UK tour to round off the album campaign.
We spent the day with Jake and watched as he took to the Clash Music Kasbah stage. The sun was shining and here’s what we all got up to!
On-site bright and early with the gang doing some bits of promo. First up was a live stream with the BBC London crew. Warm up vibes!
Photo #2: Equipment
Propa’ battered from the outside but these cases have been all over the gaff with me! Super quick turnaround between sets so we had to be 100% on it!
Photo #3: On Stage
I love this picture! My pal who was with us for this day mastered the art of the action shot with this one. This was as we were about four songs in, the crowd were warmed up and everybody was propa’ going for it!
Photo #4: End of Set
Just before we wrapped up the last track. A full crowd! Such a vibe!
Photo #5: Nandos
Probably the most crucial and important picture of the day. Free vouchers for a cheeky nados!!!
Photo #6: Hitching a Lift
Golf buggy on the way to the main stage as we kindly hitched a ride with some of the staff to make sure we could catch Wild Beast’s set in time!
Photo #7: Drinks
Usually I go for something more manly. However I was definitely enjoying a few rounds of Strawberry Daiquiri’s between stages! Had to be done. Don’t judge me.
Photo #8: Our Lives Billboard
Caught a picture of myself! Had to take a snap of the (huge) poster that was next to the main stage advertising my ‘Our Lives’ session, where I brought together a bunch of my mates including Ella Eyre and Maverick Sabre to help perform some brilliant alternative live versions of my favourite album tracks. Can’t wait for this to drop!
