Another week has come and gone, and so has so much fashion news. But fear not – Spindle are here to catch you up. Read what’s been going on this week in fashion below…

Winnie Harlow and Adwoa Aboah are among the nominees for the BFA’s Model of the Year

Nominees for the 2017 Fashion Awards are out, and it’s no surprise that toast of the town Adwoa Aboah is on the list for Model of the Year. The 25-year-old British model and activist was walked off her feet at Fashion Weeks around the world this year, and she’s currently starring alongside Naomi Campbell in H&M’s Autumn campaign. The list also features both Hadid sisters (no green-eyed monsters at the family dinner this week, then!) and Winnie Harlow, an America’s Next Top Model alumna who has managed to turn her prominent vitiligo into a unique and beautiful selling point. The final model to have been nominated is also the youngest: Kaia Gerber, daughter of supermodel legend Cindy Crawford. The young model made her runway debut for Calvin Klein this September, just four days after her 16th birthday, and is fast proving herself a worthy heir to her mother’s legacy. We can’t wait to see who is eventually crowned – the awards ceremony will take place on 4th December at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Cara Delevingne teams up with Dior for their ‘Capture’ skincare line

It might seem a touch counter-intuitive for fashion and beauty giant Dior to have tapped a 25-year-old for their new range of anti-aging skincare products, but, they promise us, there’s method in the fresh-faced madness. The brand have selected Cara Delevingne to head up the campaign for their ‘Capture Youth’ range, which is aimed at a younger demographic than most anti-aging lines out there on the basis that its products are preventative: designed to fend off the signs of aging even before wrinkles start to appear. I guess reaching your mid-twenties really does bring a lot more responsibility…

Hari Nef has a LOVEly birthday

Model, actress, and activist Hari Nef has had the week of her dreams. As well as being appointed as LOVE Magazine’s new Contributing Editor, she was also thrown a glamorous party by the magazine to celebrate her 25th birthday. Nef, who gained fame as the first ever transgender model to be signed to a major international agency, celebrated the passing of another year at Grand Central’s Campbell Apartment, where everything from the walls to her dress to her recently-dyed hair was tinged with gold. Hailee Steinfeld helms new athleisure campaign for Mission

 Innovative athleisure brand Mission this week recruited superstar Hailee Steinfeld to star in its autumn/winter campaign. The actress and singer appeared on her Instagram sporting pieces from the brand’s new ‘VaporActive’ line, which is designed to speedily evaporate sweat while also delivering a streetwear-inspired chic look. Steinfeld said in a statement that the range ‘embodies my personal style – edgy, functional, and feminine all the same time.’ We think she looks great – who knew high-tech sweat removal could be so stylish?

Gap launches ‘Meet Me in the Gap’ campaign starring Janelle Monáe

Actress, musician, and all-around beacon of brilliance Janelle Monáe has this week announced her partnership with Gap on their holiday campaign. The singer appears alongside a diverse cast of Gap-wearing choirs, models, influencers, and ordinary families, delivering a soulful cover of Freddie Scott’s ‘You Got What I Need’. Having shopped the brand from her childhood, Monáe seems at home in the campaign and, as with everything she does, we love it.
