Sara Sampaio calls out Lui Magazine for pressuring her to shoot nude
Victoria’s Secret model Sara Sampaio has this week joined the ranks of high-profile women now opening up about their experiences of sexual harassment and assault in their respective industries. Following the still-mounting allegations against Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein that broke last week, the #MeToo movement has since spread outside of Hollywood, gaining traction in fashion, publishing, and elsewhere. In a courageous Instagram post, Sampaio describes being routinely intimidated by male photographers and media teams to pose nude for photos, and details her experience with French magazine Lui publishing a nude photo of her on their cover against her express wishes. Here’s hoping that Sara’s story, and those of the thousands of other women who have come forward about their experiences, celebrities and otherwise, bring about some long, long-overdue changes.
We’ve got major FOMO for the Erdem x H&M L.A. Launch
Los Angeles played host to the botanical-themed global launch of the hotly-anticipated Erdem X H&M collaboration. It was as star-studded an event as one would expect, with Zendaya, Barbara Palvin, Alexa Chung, Kirsten Dunst, and Selma Blair among the attendees. The event took place in Los Angeles’ gorgeous Ebell Theatre, which was bedecked in lavender, bougainvillea, and wisteria for the occasion. Baz Luhrmann took to the stage briefly following Erdem’s lap of honour to introduce the ‘mini movie’ he and Erdem have worked on for the collection, which premieres next week – if it’s anywhere near as gorgeous as the show itself, we’re sure it’ll be spectacular.

It’s another historic first this week as French model Ines Rau becomes the first transgender Playmate in Playboy magazine’s seventy-four-year history. The model will feature as the magazine’s November playmate, with a centrefold and feature spread photographed by Derek Kettela. Ines has called the honour ‘the most beautiful compliment’, and we think she’s smashing it.
