The new single ‘Fade’ from indie-soul band Skinny Living sees the four-piece at their heartwrenching best.
Produced by Steve Robson, the producer behind such massive acts as James Bay and John Legend, the track showcases the Northern four-piece’s aptitude for heartbreaking harmonies and mesmerising modern soul in its exploration of the agonising experience of hurting the one you love.
The video for the track, premiering exclusively on Spindle today, offers a stylised rendering of this emotion. Its vintage aesthetics create a heady backdrop for the central drama of a struggling relationship and the futile attempts of the main character, played by lead vocalist Ryan Johnston, to escape the consequences of his actions.
Johnston says of the song and its video that ‘It’s about going through the same patterns over and over and over again. It’s about passion, constantly arguing with each other despite being deeply in love.’
