Emerging UK producer DEVI may only be 19, but he’s brimming with talent and ambition, as he proves on brand new track ‘Librium’, the video for which premieres on Spindle today.
DEVI’s distinctive style and vision has seen him do official remixes for ZAYN, Rudimental, Lion Babe, and more, and his cuts have been played on BBC Radio 1 as well as millions of times on SoundCloud and Spotify.
Featuring guest vocals from rising singer-songwriter Y.A.S, ‘Librium’ is self-released on DEVI’s own label in conjunction with Access Records – but the artist warns not to think that this is definitively his ‘sound’.
‘I really want the listener to be open-minded when they see my name,’ he says, ‘as my upcoming tracks are all in their own little sphere and are super different from each other. So don’t be surprised to hear different genres in the near future!’
‘Librium’ is a song which many people will identify with – for different reasons. With dance music videos there is always the temptation to film a club scene or feature a female protagonist in some form of distress. We wanted to subvert the genre and really do something different that resonates.’
