Heavyweight Dutch DJ/producer/head honcho of famous Amsterdam-based BMKLTSCH RCRDS, Mike Mago has been setting dance trends for years. For his latest outing he’s paired up with emerging UK pop talent Tiggi Hawke, on the immediately infectious dance-pop belter ‘Dangerous Behaviour’. To celebrate the pair’s link up we asked them both to pick their favourite five tracks released over past week and talk us through their selects.

Take a listen to ‘Dangerous Behaviour’ and dive in to this week’s finest below.

Mike Mago:
Pau – ‘Go Bang’

I’ve been a big fan of Pnau ever since their track ‘Bab’y got remixed by Breakout back in 2008 I think. also their previous single ‘Chameleon’ was in my setlist (sometimes the original and sometimes the Mele remix) for a long time. ‘Go Bang’ is of the same status. Great track and a really high dance floor potential. This is gonna be in my coming DJ sets for sure!

Youngr x Endor – ‘Give It Up’

I’ve met Endor once in a typical afterparty-in-a-hotelroom situation around 2 years ago. Both slightly drunk and both occupied by the path our career was gonna take us. Lovely guy. Lovely song. Great bootleg from Youngr. The track breaths a certain nostalgia which I really like. 9/10

Jae Stephens – ‘Someone Else’

I’m a sucker for slick beats, swinging rhythms and cool chords and I love Jae’s voice! It’s nusoul/futurern/whaterever we call it nowadays at its best.

Rhannes – ‘Without Me’

One from my own label BMKLTSCH RCRDS. Rhannes is a true talent and you can hear that on the first second of the song. It immediately sets the vibe. It’s mellow, it’s poolside, it’s emotional, it’s just good.

Jagara – ‘Twice’

Absolutely stunned by the vibe of this track. great funkiness and a lovely voice. Didn’t know Jagara before checking New Music Friday UK. Will follow her development from now on. Sounds very promising.

Tiggi Hawke:

‘Strangers’ – Sigrid
What a hauntingly euphoric song! Her voice sounds incredible and the lyrics are something else. I was a huge fan of ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ and this does not disappoint at all.
‘Good Together’ – SHY Martin

Her. Voice. Is. Amazing. My most favourite new discovery and I’m so glad I found out about her. I can’t wait for new music, it’s got catchy hooks and really interesting production, right up my street!

‘Problems’ – Petite Biscuit, Lido

This guy is amazing! This is the only song of his I’ve checked out but I need to find more!! The song itself is so interesting, the lyrics and production are unusual but really raw, its gets right under your skin where it belongs and his voice keeps it there.

‘Little Amsterdam’ – Luna Bay

Guitar? Check. Catchy vocals? Check. Foot-tapping beat? Double check. You’re in for a treat, I was hooked the moment I heard this one and it’s been on my monthly playlist every since. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

‘Boa Me’  – Fuse ODG, Ed Sheeran, Mugeez

Every time I hear this I can pretend the sun’s coming out! This song is the light in grey, rainy days, what a perfect meeting of 3 amazingly talented musicians. Tropical vibes with real lyrics, take a listen, you ears will thank me.
