Ever since Cardi B burst onto the scene with her hit song, ‘Bodak Yellow’, she has consistently been making “money moves”. Case in point: her new collaboration with sportswear giant Reebok.
Announced via Cardi’s Instagram, the rapper is seen rocking the classic Aztrek trainers in, what appears to be, a not-yet-released tracksuit. The Aztrek trainer sees the brand continuing fashion’s love of the dad trainer, as well as, dipping into its archives with the 90s throwback silhouette, which will be heavily promoted to the artist’s 35 million followers.
The chunky trainers are set to retail for £68 and will feature dad-esque designs in pinks, purples and blues.
“Cardi isn’t just a world-class entertainer,” said the brand in a press release, adding, “she’s a mother, a style icon, a pop culture magnet and–above all else–a fearless individual. She’s broken every mould that superstars are supposed to fit into–and she’s reached the top by following nobody’s path but her own.”
The past few years have seen the brand sign more prominent ambassadors as it tries to keep up with its growing female customer base. Gigi Hadid, Ariana Grande and Gal Gadot are some of the recent celebrity ambassadors who have helped push their women’s products.
The partnership will rack Cardi’s brand deals up to three. Earlier this year she announced a collaboration with Steven Madden and just last week she revealed a collection with Fashion Nova that will be dropping Nov. 15.
Details surrounding the Cardi B x Reebok partnership have been kept under wraps, but the rapper is expected to play a big role in the collection, with Reebok describing her as the perfect embodiment of the collaboration.
“Everything that you love about Cardi B is what you love about Reebok,” the brand added. “There’s nothing we love more than taking risks and standing boldly.”
