Blood Brother presented their Autumn/Winter 17 collection at London Fashion Week Men’s today in a room suitably decorated with objects one imagines the River Thames is full of. Indeed, the river that flows through the capital served as the label’s inspiration for their latest line of men’s clothing. Old buoys, chains, barrels, and even washed up teddy bears and ‘keep left’ signs were on display alongside the models, giving the showcase a highly edgy tone.

The collection itself, however, was a mix of tailoring with more casual pieces, with one look seeing a cord jacket over a hooded top, paired with smart trousers and completed with a baseball cap, all in a deep, dark indigo. Strong pops of orange stood out against an otherwise dark and brooding colour palette, featuring a bright orange jacket and multiple pairs of orange sweatpants, one paired with a striped orange, black and white knit, and the rest with dark jackets.

Another look set apart from much of the collection was a shiny silver shirt paired with pink acid wash tie-up trousers. The brand’s name was emblazoned on many pieces, in giant letters along scarves, down the side of sleeves, and across a small bum bag strapped to a model’s chest. Zips were also used repeatedly on trouser pockets, sweaters, and zip-up outerwear.

The label also continued their use of prints with their Thames theme, referencing the mapping and cartography of the river in detailed embroidery over various fabrics, from delicate silks to comfy sweats. This made a particularly striking design on a black bomber jacket, while a complete suit with this mapping pattern was also on display, paired with glossy trainers and another baseball hat.
