Spindle Selects: SONNY Takeover

Following his incredible debut EP ‘Hopeless Romance’, ‘Yesterday’s Gone’ by the soulful Sonny used his mesmerising vocals in a bittersweet ballad that showed talent way beyond the 18 year old’s years.

The singer-songwriter guides the soft guitars, gentle strings and the gradual percussion that just captivated us once again. 2017 has been a whirlwind year for the artist, playing at festivals including Secret Garden Party, The Great Escape, Boardmasters and most recently supporting Gabrielle Aplin on her UK tour.

From gigging around Newcastle at just 14-years-old to playing to thousands of people nationwide, over the years Sonny has honed his skills as an effortlessly confident performer who exudes charm. The anticipation for what Sonny will bring to the table in 2018 is rising ever higher, so we got him to take a listen to this week’s new music and pick his favourites with an appropriately Christmassy-spin.
