Since Riccardo Tisci announced himself as chief creative office of Burberry with a strangely-angled selfie, there’s been nervous anticipation regarding his plans for the British fashion house. Would a man with clear Gothic influences, unafraid of bold graphics and chucking stars on everything, be right for a brand known for sleek classics? Most importantly, would he mess with the iconic check?
Thankfully, we now have a slight idea of what to expect, as Tisci has posted a series of images from the ‘B Classic’ collection on his personal Instagram account. Although he did not design any of the pieces, he curated the selection, which is a simple edit of Burberry staples. Of course, the trench coat is front and centre. Although the images don’t reveal a huge amount, they suggest that (for now at least) Tisci is sticking to what Burberry does best.
