The pop princess has dropped her long-awaited album, sweetener, and after it’s first weekend, the album has already garnered positive reviews from fans and critics.
Sweetener is a celebration and reflection of Grande’s life within the past year – from the trauma and heartbreak over the Manchester bombings, to finding her inner-peace and love with SNL comedian, Pete Davidson.
Other noteworthy songs, is her sweet dedication to her ‘soul mate’, Pete Davidson who the singer became engaged to earlier this summer, ‘the light is coming’ – which features Nicki Minaj, and ‘breathin’ which has already climbed to the top of the UK charts.
The album is dedicated to renewing one’s life and making life a little sweet, despite the terrors that may face us. A review by the Observer highlights this, stating, “Sweetener lives up to this spirit. Rather than allowing tragedy to linger, Grande focuses on the increased appreciation of life that followed. Her brush with mortality has aligned her creative vision and all aspects of her musical heritage are given their dues.”
