This past week, singer Ray BLK dropped a new music video for her latest track, Run Run. In an emotional, and heart-wrenching video – Ray Blk’s Run Run is a powerful track that forces you to really see and feel a personal experience of a black woman growing up in South East London.
The video, directed by Tom Green (of Misfits), follows both Ray and an unnamed male character, running from the realities many of London’s young men and women face on a daily basis. Both the song and video addresses the knife and gun crime epidemic in a way that you, the viewer, feel the pain of loss, fear of death and emotional stress of the dangers that become part of your life.
Ray BLK is an artist that should be on everybody’s radar. As the recipient of the BBC’s Sound of 2017 award, and nominee for best newcomer at the 2016 MOBO Awards, this young singer has a career that is set for success.
