Cardi B wants you to know she is dripping in gold and swimming in cash on her new song ‘Money’. It’s the rapper’s first solo single since the release of her critically acclaimed debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’.
On Tuesday morning (October 23), the artist posted the single cover to her Twitter and Instagram pages which showed her decked out in lavish pieces of jewellery; including a chandelier-esque headpiece and a sleeve of gold watches and bracelets.
In recent months, the Bronx star has given birth a daughter, Kulture, with husband Offset, gotten into a very public feud with rapper Nicki Minaj and appeared on tracks with Maroon 5, Lil Yachty, DJ Snake and Jennifer Lopez.
The song, supposed to be released Thursday (October 25) afternoon, was leaked online early Tuesday and then subsequently released by Cardi B’s team later that day. Talking to her fans via Instagram live, the Bodak Yello rapper said: “So as you can see, my song Monday got leaked. So, it’s like, f*** it; if it’s leaked, might as well put it out.”
It’s undeniable Cardi B already has another hit on her hands because the record boasts some pretty quotable lyrics including: “I was born to flex/ Diamonds on my neck/ I like boarding jets/ I like morning sex/ But nothing in the world/ That I like more than checks.”
No word yet on when the rapper is planning to release more music, but if it’s anything as savage as this we’re willing to say it’s worth the wait.
