Today, Lacoste appointed its latest creative director: Louise Trotter, making the Brit the first ever woman to be the head of creative direction since the brands establishment 85 years ago. Speaking about the venture, Trotter said: “I am delighted to join this French brand with such a unique heritage. For 85 years, the modernity of the Lacoste style lies in this singular fusion of sport and fashion. I am proud to contribute to the writing of a new chapter in its history.” Following an excellent nine-year stint at Joseph, Trotter should certainly be delighted. The last few seasons at Joseph have seen the brand fade into runway purgatory. So, this move is an exciting transition. Trotter’s first collection will be shown at the A/W 2019 Paris Fashion Week show. We’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Lacoste, and its first female lead!
